President Mike Taphorn opened the meeting by welcoming the general membership, new members and guests. Mike followed the agenda by explaining the different door prices. He also explained that the meeting will be somewhat shorter due to a Microsoft representative who was going to explain to the members how the new Microsoft Windows 7 functions. Mr. Taphorn also announced that there is a good possibility that our next Officer’s meeting might be change from that Golden Corral at Shiloh to another location if it is possible. Further instructions will follow. Mike also discussed the possibilities of having a picnic during the month of June. A sign out will be floating around during our general meeting so everyone will bring a side dish to contribute to the picnic. Also, he informed the membership of the new camcorder that will be purchased in the near future. This recorder will facilitate the recording and transferring of the information from the camera to the computer and then to the duplicator in order to burn CDs to be sold to the members for $1.00 each.

The president went around asking the officers and they had any contributing information to share with the members. After the information was distributed, Mike moved to the Q & A session which lasted about 15 minutes.

Shawn Travers from Microsoft conducted the session for the night titled Windows 7 which will be the replacement of Vista. Vista was not accepted very well by the users due part to the fact that it was very cumbersome and had quite of few bugs and problem to be fixed. The presentation lasted for approximately 45 minutes and the majority of the members present attended the session.

Our next meeting will be held on May 20, 2009 at 7:00pm a our regular place.

President Mike Taphorn opened the meeting at 7:00 PM and first of all welcomed the general membership and guests. Mike also recognized the new members who joined before the meeting started. Mr. Taphorn proceeded to explain to the membership that very soon we will be receiving our own CD duplicator that is several years old and beginning to malfunction on occasion. With our new duplicator we will be able to create copies of CDs of the night's presentation that the members can purchase for one dollar and take home. Those who could not attend the presentation could purchase them at a later date. Mike also announced that future presentations will be one given by Mr. Sean Trevers from Microsoft and also we will discuss Format Factory used to control files.

He continued to explain in detail about the door prizes that will be given away to some lucky members.

Roy Eagle asked for assistance from the membership concerning ideas, topics, or anything else that the members would like to see discussed and see it printed in the news letter. Jason, our librarian, asked the members to donate any old hardware or software of the old, believe it not, Commodore 64. Come on Jason, my watch has more memory than that computer.

The president announced that Adobe and Java have new versions of their programs and that it will be advisable to download them to possibly prevent viruses from creeping in.

The Q & A followed for the normal 20 minutes. Following the Q & A Chuck Hill continue last month's presentation "Safe Computing". I must say it was a complete "sell out", standing room only. Actually, we did not have anymore chairs.

Our next general meeting will be held on April 15th at 7:00pm at our present location.

President Mike Taphorn opened the meeting at 7: p.m. and as usual welcomed the general membership, new members and guests. First of all it was reported that our membership chairman J.C. Spelce had been hospitalized and was recuperating at home. We wish him the best for him and his family and hope that he will return soon to our meetings. Mike proceeded to explain the door prizes for the night. Mike also reported that the new website was up and running thanks to Steve Gillroy. Steve explained that the site has a rollover format and that he will take suggestions to improve it further if possible. The president also said that the duplicator unit was a done deal and that it will be arriving soon and Jason, our librarian could be doing duplicates of the nightly recorded demos that we have during the meetings for those who might want to learn more about the subject or could not attend a particular presentation.

Our librarian Jason ask the assistance of the membership and requested that if someone had any old Commodore 64 hardware or software and would like to donated, to get in touch with him. It looks to me that Jason is trying to move up in the world and now he wants to work the Commodore 128. Welcome to the present “J”. The Q. and A. followed for approximately 25 minutes and was followed by the presentation given by our own Charles Hill. The topic was “Safe computing”. Mike also requested the assistance from the general membership by asking to see if someone had any knowledge about a particular program or topic that they would like to volunteer and be a presenter for a future month. This will remain open for later on.

Our next meeting will be held at 7:pm on March 18th, 2009 at the same location.

President Taphorn opened the meeting at 7:00 PM and proceeded to welcome members and guests. The first order of business was to explain how the system works and the different door prizes available for the meeting. He talked about the pros and cons of dealing with Pay-Pal.

Mike also advised the members as to how to use Pay Pal to their advantage. The topic about purchasing a DVD duplicator to sell our own created programs to the member for $1.00 each.

The president also explained to the membership the members the technical problems that we are facing with our up-to-date membership list. Because of the new board officers, the sharing of information has had some problems communicating with each other.

There was a short Q and A session that was followed by the swap meet already in progress.

The next general membership meeting will be held at the same place on the 18th of Feb. 09.
