After the welcoming remarks to the membership present president Mike Taphorn proceeded to explain the way the meeting was going to develop. First he said that the meeting was a swap meet and BBQ for the membership. Then he continued to explain the door prizes to be awarded to five lucky winners. Then he opened the Q & A session for a short period. After the meeting was closed, he invited everyone to form a line and to help them selves to the food. Afterwards the members browsed around to see if they could find anything special that they were maybe looking for a long time.

This was a very short, sweet and well fed meeting.

The next meeting will take place on July 19, 2010 at the same time, 7 pm, and location.

Till then,

Our president Mike Taphorn opened the meeting on time at 7 pm and after the usual welcome greetings to the membership and guests he continued to introduce a couple of new members to our club. Mike described the door prizes in detail by explaining that he had a cornucopia of prizes at his house and that he needed to recuperate space. He also announced that we were having some intermittent problems with the old router that we installed a couple of years ago and was not working as it was supposed to. A new improved router was approved and installed as the meeting was going on and it took only a few minutes to do so by the capable hands of my older brother Chuck Hill. It was fully functional and ready to be used by the membership.

The membership meeting is going to be the swap meet and BBQ fest. This means that the next meeting is going to be very short and very fast. For those who are going to be bringing side dishes do not forget to do so. For those of you who where not sure what to bring, make sure that you contribute something for the feast, even money is accepted. The money can be used toward the main dish the club is sponsoring. The Q & A followed for approximately 20 minutes and as usual was quite constructive and informative.

Facebook, Twitter and/or other social networks were the subjects for the Demo after the official meeting ended. Our own President Taphorn gave the demonstration.

Our next meeting will be on June the 16th, this time at 6 pm and at the same location. We are going to meet one hour earlier due to the BBQ and swap meet.

Till then,

Signed.

The meeting was open at 7:10 pm by President Mike Taphorn. After the cordial welcome greeting to the general membership and guests, he proceeded to explain the door prizes. He continued to talk about the different articles that Mike finds in the different magazines he reads. He brings the pages with the articles and places them on the table so the members can read them, and sometimes they take the page home after the meeting. The president asked the board officers if they had announcements of value to share with the members. Some did and some did not. Mike gave a special welcome to hour vice-president Jim…uh, Jim who has been absent for so long that I forgot his last name. Any way, welcome home Jim…uh. The Q & A session followed immediately, and this time was an interesting one with a variety of topics, you know the kind that everyone jumps in with possible solutions to whatever the topic or problem might be. After the Q&A session, believe it or not, our own president Taphorn gave the presentation on Tips, Tricks and Applications for Utilities. Members must have been thirsty for knowledge because it was very well attended.

Our next meeting will be on May 19th at the same time, 7 pm, and location.

Our next meeting will be held on Mar. 17th at 7:00 pm at the same location.

President Taphorn opened the meeting by, as usual, welcoming the membership and guests. For openers, Mike talked about the most important subject of the meeting. He announced that there were only eight cards left in the deck so the possibilities of someone winning the main prize was 1 in 8. One was able to see the anxiety on their faces hoping that the meeting was a short one. To every ones dismay no one won the first price. That means that next meeting the odds will be 1 in 3. Definitely one of the first three winners will be the ones with the upper hand. The President asked questions to the board members to see if anyone had information to offer to the group. Of all the members, Charles, our treasures, had information on the medical progress of Bob who is still convalescent at home and can not attend our meetings yet. We hope that he will return to us soon. The Q & A section of the meeting one question concerning recovery data and complete image of the hard drive, took about 15 minutes to be answered with satisfaction. Some of the possible links with answers to the question were posted the following day on our web page so every one could benefit from the information.

The topic for the meeting's presentation was 'Enhancing your Games' and it was given by our own Chuck Hill and it was well attended and very well presented. Thank you Chuck.

Our next meeting will be held on Mar. 17th at 7:00 pm at the same location.

The president, Mike Taphorn, opened the meeting at 7:03pm by welcoming the general membership and the new members and guests. He proceeded by touching briefly on our treasurer's report and hoping that our account gets a little bit better so we can get better door prizes. He continued by explaining some of our current door prizes available for our present meeting. He also specified very clearly that in order for an individual to buy and possibly win any prizes, the winner must be a current paid up member. After a few general announcements Mike moved on to asking comments from our club officers. The president followed with a short Q and A session. The reason for our short meeting was that we were having a swap meet and he wanted the members to take advantage of the present opportunities available to every one.

Our next meeting will be held at the same location and time on Wed. Feb. 17, 2010.

Mike Taphorn opened the meeting at 7:10 pm instead of our normal 7:00 pm due to an unexpected internal situation which was handled quickly and with correct results. As usual Mike welcomed the membership and a new guest. As per history he proceeded to explain about the door prizes and how the system works, this is always down for the benefit of new members and guests. The president went ahead and debated the new Windows 7 which is supposed to come into the market in a few months. Several members raised questions and opinions and facts were used for answers. Mike also recommended downloading a program called "Every Engine Search" that can be downloaded from Google. This program will assist you greatly in your PC search by placing the subject you are looking for in a more orderly manner. Driver up dates from "Phoenix" will tell you what drives to update in you computer. The Q & A followed for the next 20 minutes and then we adjourned to the presentation room where Charles gave a demonstration on "Internet TV".

In a more personal note, Charles, our treasurer, gave us an update on Bob, one of our members, who is still in the hospital for the last five weeks.

President Mike Taphorn opened the meeting at 7 PM and as usual welcomed the membership and guests. He went to explain the door prizes available for tonight. Mike announced that he would not be able to attend the next board meeting due to the fact that he will be vacationing in Florida during that time and appointed Jim Tomlinson, the Vice president, to chair the meeting during the month of June only. The Vice president could not contain his enthusiasm and accepted gladly the honor bestowed upon him. The presentation for tonight's meeting will be given by Mike Taphorn and the name of the topic will be "Conversions".

This is a reminder that next month our general membership meeting will be a combination of "swap meet" and a "picnic" style meeting. If you did not have the opportunity sign up to bring something to the meeting, just go ahead and bring a side dish or dessert to add to the variety. The Q & A followed for a short time and the membership moved to view the presentation. Those who had problems with their computers remained in the main room. The meeting was kind of short, compared to others, but it was substantial and to the point.

Our next meeting will be held at the same place on the 3rd Wednesday of June 17, 09 at 7 pm.

Carlos Mariles

President Mike Taphorn opened the meeting by welcoming the general membership, new members and guests. Mike followed the agenda by explaining the different door prices. He also explained that the meeting will be somewhat shorter due to a Microsoft representative who was going to explain to the members how the new Microsoft Windows 7 functions. Mr. Taphorn also announced that there is a good possibility that our next Officer's meeting might be change from that Golden Corral at Shiloh to another location if it is possible. Further instructions will follow. Mike also discussed the possibilities of having a picnic during the month of June. A sign out will be floating around during our general meeting so everyone will bring a side dish to contribute to the picnic. Also, he informed the membership of the new camcorder that will be purchased in the near future. This recorder will facilitate the recording and transferring of the information from the camera to the computer and then to the duplicator in order to burn CDs to be sold to the members for $1.00 each.

The president went around asking the officers and they had any contributing information to share with the members. After the information was distributed, Mike moved to the Q & A session which lasted about 15 minutes.

Image of Shawn Travers, from the April 2009 GCC Meeting
Shawn Travers from Microsoft conducted the session for the night titled Windows 7 which will be the replacement of Vista. Vista was not accepted very well by the users due part to the fact that it was very cumbersome and had quite of few bugs and problem to be fixed. The presentation lasted for approximately 45 minutes and the majority of the members present attended the session.

Our next meeting will be held on May 20, 2009 at 7:00pm a our regular place.

President Mike Taphorn opened the meeting at 7:00 PM and first of all welcomed the general membership and guests. Mike also recognized the new members who joined before the meeting started. Mr. Taphorn proceeded to explain to the membership that very soon we will be receiving our own CD duplicator that is several years old and beginning to malfunction on occasion. With our new duplicator we will be able to create copies of CDs of the night's presentation that the members can purchase for one dollar and take home. Those who could not attend the presentation could purchase them at a later date. Mike also announced that future presentations will be one given by Mr. Sean Trevers from Microsoft and also we will discuss Format Factory used to control files.

He continued to explain in detail about the door prizes that will be given away to some lucky members.

Roy Eagle asked for assistance from the membership concerning ideas, topics, or anything else that the members would like to see discussed and see it printed in the news letter. Jason, our librarian, asked the members to donate any old hardware or software of the old, believe it not, Commodore 64. Come on Jason, my watch has more memory than that computer.

The president announced that Adobe and Java have new versions of their programs and that it will be advisable to download them to possibly prevent viruses from creeping in.

The Q & A followed for the normal 20 minutes. Following the Q & A Chuck Hill continue last month's presentation "Safe Computing". I must say it was a complete "sell out", standing room only. Actually, we did not have anymore chairs.

The Q. and A. followed for approximately 25 minutes and was followed by the presentation given by our own Charles Hill. The topic was “Safe computing”.
