Hello From The Pres...
Mike Taphorn

Greetings….

Just  a quick note to review a few things that will happen at the meeting Wednesday night….

Welcome / Intro

Group Problem solving Q & A Session (Chuck Hill will not be present. Please help answer questions if you are a techie…)

Baseball Game Signup – If you are interested in attending a Grizzlies Baseball Game on Tuesday, August 24th make sure you attend the meeting this week. The Club is going to purchase tickets for the game (One / membership at $16 each) for anyone interested in attending. We have a 50 ticket limit so sign up early to make sure you get a seat. Unfortunately, we have to pay in advance so we need to get a $10 deposit for each ticket in advance (At the meeting Wednesday). We’ll refund the $10 at the next meeting if you attend the game. Additional tickets can be purchased for your kids or significant others for $16 each. The $16 includes an all-you-can-eat buffet and free non-alcoholic beverages for 75 minutes before the game. You also get beer for $1 with your ticket. If you’re still reading and you are confused or just want more details, I’ll have more info at the meeting. Just bring cash or checks…

It should be a fun night and it’s a nice way for the club to reward it’s members for all their hard work….

Computer Show - We’ll have the Bluestar Super Computer Sale sign up sheets for everyone that wants to help out at the free tech support booth at the show on August 27th-29th.

August Demo – Our Demo is going to be great. I don’t have the details, but, Bob Havlin is cooking something up with Toby and he should send out more details tomorrow….

Doughnuts and/or Steak N’ Shake

Thanks for your time and….

See you at the meeting …

 Mike

July 21, 04 Minutes

President Mike Taphorn opened the meeting at 7:07PM. First he welcomed the new members and guests and continued to explain the CD with programs that the VP, Jim Tomlinson is preparing for the month August. Our VP is concluding the CD by including the latest patches that Microsoft has come up with. Jim claims that the installation of the patches will be easier to install once he finalizes the CD. Mike also announced that the next computer show will be held in Aug. and he requested the assistance of the membership to help with the different tasks that the club performs during the show. The prez also explained the different twist added to our door prize for the night. There was a proposal to go to a baseball game at Bush stadium as a group either in the near future or for next year. This will be taken in consideration by the group during the next officer’s meeting which will be held on Aug. 4th in Collinsville, IL. Mike also expressed the need of a new Web master to replace our present Web master. Mr. Dennis McMurtrey immediately raised his hand and volunteer for the job. A small Q. & A. period followed. Finally the swap time started in earnest and followed for the rest of night until closing time.

Our next general membership meeting will be held at the same place at 7 PM on Aug. 18, 2004.
Till then,

Carlos

Want to know the latest stuff about your charter high speed internet
access - stuff charter won't tell you ?
http://www.dslreports.com/forum/charter

Did you know if you have the charter 3Meg plan, you also get free virus
scanner and free firewall too ?
See the 'download security suite' link at...
https://update.charter.com/servlet/MyAccount

If you still haven't upgraded your old charter plan to the new 3Meg
plan, your spending $3 more per month for less than half the speed.  If
you call to have to have your old plan changed and they tell you 'you
already have the cheapest plan', hang-up, call right back and get a
different rep.

Btw:  the above link is also where you set-up your free personal web page
with charter.  You can also pay your bill there and set-up for e-mail.
