Guests and Visitors
| We openly welcome and encourage visitors
and guests.
That is how we attract new members. We actively sign up guests at
computer fairs, shows, and other community activities.
Links to maps and directions to our meetings can be found on the main page of this website. The newsletter will tell you about current and future presentations Before you come please read the Do's and Don't section below. |
We want to get to know you and we want you to know us: |
|
| 1. Introduce yourself. We want to get to know you. Our
members wear ID badges. Look at one, get the person's name and start talking.
2. Please stand up when Mike asks if there are any guest or visitors. We want to know who you are. We don't ask you a lot questions and we will not put you on the spot. 3. Ask questions. Ask members about the club. Ask questions about computers or computer problems. 4. If we have your email address, you can receive the club newsletter for a 4 month trial. 5. If we have your email address, we will send you reminder about the club's meeting.

Do not be a burden: |
|
| 1. Don't bring your PC, and /or components, to a
meeting and ask up to assemble it, upgrade it, or fix it. You are not
the first, or second person that thought of this idea for free support. We do
not do provide this type of support to non members. We only provide this
support at the computer shows to attract new members and potential new
members.
Hands on support, and assemble of computers is a benefit of membership. Think about it for a moment, most repair shops have a $75.00 minimum fee for this and / or a $50.00 per hour charge; so $15.00 for a years membership is not a lot to pay to have this done. Remember nothing says you have to come back and attend more meetings if you don't want too. If it is your plan, to join the club, and have us assemble or repair your computer for you please Mike and make arrangements before you show up. 2. Do not ask for commercial copyrighted software. We do not share, exchange, or give out commercial copyrighted software to anyone, and that includes members. 4. If you expect to learn about hacking your way into computer systems, breaking code, or otherwise using your computer for illegal purpose, PLEASE STAY HOME. 3. You can not buy club produced CD's. That is reserved for club members only. 4. You can not check out publications or books from the club library. That is reserved for club members only. 5. We will not mail or email you a copy of Bit & Chips. 6. We will not send you a post card reminder about the next club meetings. 7. You can not be a perpetual guest. That is not fair to our dues paying members. Four times is enough. If your not convinced after four meeting, find something else to do on Wednesday night. 8. If you not sure you want to be a member, checkout the benefits of membership. |
